The Handmaid's Tale and Oryx and Crake are interesting to compare on another front, too: the dystopianism is almost inverse, with one showing a society with too much control and the other too little. The Oatmeal for Women nearly made me cry---ow, but that was too close.

You're right in that it had its problems, but I'm still very fond of it.
