Well, there's fannish, and then there's... moderately obsessed? I have no real outlet for fannish behaviour in RL, so I pretty much let loose on LJ, (almost) no holds barred. (Wow -- I've never used that particular phrase before, and looking at it, I have no idea if I've even spelled it right. Oh, well.)
ANYWAY, my fondness for one E. Wood might seem a bit OTT to some, but really, it's all fun for me. I've actually never had a 'celebrity crush' before, so I'm just enjoying myself. But I never, ever forget that he's just a guy, with a life and friends, which is as it should be. In fact, I just wrote a ficlet about how his 'fame' must affect not only him, but his friends, as well (case in point, the way so many fans have deluged the LJs of you fine ladies lately).
You have attracted at least one semi-crazy to your friend of list, that I can see, but I won't go into that or who it is. I'm sure Esorlehcar can fill you in -- she's a friend of mine, and can be counted on to give the straight scoop, in most cases, though she's a bit harder on people than I tend to be.
BTW... did Eso ever tell you that her lone foray into writing Lotrips was an Elijah/Billy? And a damn good one, at that. :D
Who knows -- maybe I'll eventually give in and add you to my flist, because I'm stalking you anyway enjoying your entries (and I'm thinking of giving some of your fic a read), but I might feel compelled to tone down the Elijah gushing, and I'm not sure I'm ready to do that. But knowing that someone who is at least an acquaintance of his might look in... well, it would be an odd clash of reality vs. non-reality, and I'm not sure how to wrap my brain around it, yet.
Sorry for rambling, here. But... yay! Holes! I will rent it and watch it with my kiddo. I didn't let her see it when it was out, because I thought the themes might be a bit mature for her, but now that we've read the book, I'm more confident about it. Thank you!
