All of this leads me to suspect -- and this is where my complete ignorance of SG1 could get me in trouble, so feel free to take this with a grain of stupidity salt -- that the creators of SGA were Trek fans themselves

Oh, I'm sure they know their Trek, though the thing that shows up in SG-1 over and over and, God help me, over, is Star Wars. Like, to the point where someone clearly needs to hide their DVDs.

But no, the Stargate PTB are not at all shy about, er... let's call it homage, shall we? They're pro-homage. And I think SGA may feel Trekkier than SG-1 because it's more alien, and it has a more futuristic setting; SG-1, even as they've gained spiffy advanced technology, has remained fairly grounded in the here-and-now of Earth.
