Northern Exposure, also the X-Files. NX, you want to watch the first four and a half seasons, all in a row. You can stop after Joel leaves. XF, go back and restart at the beginning and watch through season 6.
Also Dexter and Big Love. Big Love has Grace Zabriskie holding a chicken, and Dexter has people periodically in boxes full of blood.
Heeee, you have me sussed--thanks! I loved the X-Files, but only until season 4 or so, when I left in a huff. Northern Exposure was never must-see tv for me, but I enjoyed it if I caught an episode, and my mom loved it so I watched it pretty frequently with her. (p.s. If you liked NX, have you tried ABC's current series Men In Trees? It is a bit sugary, but I generally enjoy it.)
I caught an episode of Big Love randomly the other night and liked it, but of course I had very little idea what was going on (Grace Zabriskie did not appear. Let alone holding a chicken!). Dexter I'm worried might be too gross for me, what do you think?
