things you can tell just by poking at her

So who knows some sneaky little LJ tricks? Like marnanel.org/joule but moreso. Like that "who's popular among my friends"? trick or "who shares my interests" trick or any of those other tricks that used to exist and don't any more, or anything new that does exist for a paid user and might have escaped me.

Everything has escaped me. I know you people know things. Because you mention things sometimes. Like that clever clever birthday list, for example! Where'd that go?

Pretend I don't know anything. I *don't* know anything. It was, like, four days ago I discovered friendsfriends was a thing. Tell me things?

Popular users amongst your friends used to be here -- http://www.livejournal.com/friends/popwithfriends.bml -- but last time I looked, it was offline temporarily.

Schmancy search with lots of options is here -- http://www.livejournal.com/directorysearch.bml

Oh, and -- the LJ randomizer is here: http://www.antispin.net/~martine/cgi-bin/insanity.cgi?sabine101 (or use any username you like). This is where it remixes your LJ and gives you gems like (from mine) "Humans may be back up of tiny shapes of sorts, but the mall."

In a similar vein is the LJ Haiku generator: http://grahame.angrygoats.net/lj-haiku/index.py. I've never gotten anything decent out of it, but I've seen hilarious ones on other people's journals.
