all I can offer you is the company of someone else who's paid the price

Public Service announcement to the Chicago folks (you know who you are) and anyone else who's been browsing the LJs wondering who these "Duende" people are.

Maria and Alex, baby. Band on the run. Here's what to do. Go here:

http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/duende

Get their cd. Send them an e-mail. Tell 'em I sent you. Tell 'em to play in your town. They're doing a midwest tour now, they're doing the West Coast, Phoenix and LA this summer. Suggest venues. Tell them you've got their backs.

$15 for the cd and I swear to god, if you don't love it, I'll buy it off you. These people need to be heard, so let's use our Internettish powers to spread the word. And Chicago folks, I've already promised them you're coming to the show, and you're to find them afterward, buy them drinks and give them hugs from me and G and the NYC contingent. Lorrie, bring Joe. Bring Rob. Etc.

I'm just saying. ALSO, Step, LE, anyone else who has the cd already -- go to the cdbaby site and place a review. Wax lyrical. It's important. We knew 'em WHEN, dude.

This is not a suggestion. This is an order. *g*

I'm listening to Good Morning, Good Evening, Good Bye now after listening to Leaving NYC, and ohmygod. May I look around and see if I can buy the CD in a local store? I might find it.

Thank you!

Gail

They aren't sold in any stores. I mean -- you can only get cds at their shows and online. Where are you? if you're in the NYC area they'll be back in town in May and they're easy to find. But still. Do they not RULE?

Mmm, Duende.

"Let the House Fall" is my favorite.

I'm a Cambridge, MA person. Damn. Nothing in stores? Fine. I'm good at the online order thing.

They're really good. Sorry, but Jonatha Brooke and Ellis Paul still rule for me. Fucking incredible.

Here are URLs for them, just in case you're interested:
Jonatha: http://www.jonathabrooke.com/core.html
Ellis: http://www.ellispaul.com

Yeah, I'm pushy. I hope that Lennier starts doing what you want. I want more B5 slash from you. :-)

Of course I know Jonatha Brooke and Ellis Paul. Do you have the first "Legacy" cd? really really good. Out of print now, sadly. It has a track by the Story ("Damn Everything but the Circus") and also an Ellis Paul track...that I can't remember right now. Excellent though. Look for it used somewhere, I'm sure you'll be able to find it.

Oh! Wonderful! You know them!

Yes, I have the first Legacy CD, and thank you for reminding me of that.

You are so cool. :-) *beaming*

Damn. I can't go. Already committed to something else, and there is no way I can get out of it.

Thank you for telling me.
