Note to self:

The only, only pairing in Firefly where I actually feel the love is Inara/Kaylee. I'm watching this show, I don't believe *any* of the obvious slash pairings, and none even of the het pairings except Simon/River, and I'm not ready for incest today.

How is it possible that Inara/Kaylee is the only pairing with chemistry on this show?

And whatever will I do with my poor Mal? (Seriously. I want to slash him with Markus. Of Jeremiah fame. Because how hot would Mal/Markus be? Seriously.)

I've been trying to find a good pairing for Mal in my head for a long time. I have this feeling he'd click with some of the DS9 folks, somehow... Mal/Sisko actually sparks a bit for me. Hmm...

I agree with you on Inara/Kaylee, though I also see plenty of UST in Mal/Inara, too. My chief interest in the show, though, is Mal. Alone, with others, whatever. Such a good character.

I've never felt any other slash pairings beside Inara/Kaylee, actually. I used to have this big theory about it, but I let it drift off as it did not actually make any sense.

I do like Zoe/Wash, and I have a soft spot for Mal/Kaylee, even though I don't think their relationship on the show supports it, just because I tend to like it when the people are closely connected and necessary and important to each other.

I'm afraid I have a weakness for Mal/Simon, if only because Simon keeps casting Mal these longing looks that say, "Please oh please, approve of me!" But I don't feel the love of any of the other obvious slash pairings. As for the het pairings, they're interesting enough onscreen, but I'm not sure I want to write fic about them. With the exception of Zoe/Mal. But I'm afraid I can't do that to my poor Wash.

Actually, I thought the same thing when I saw the first ep. But I can't help 'shipping in even the slightest for Mal/Inara. I could, though, see both Mal/Inara and Inara/Kaylee working in the same story.

It's because Mal has a similar approach to leadership to Sisko. That and the deep, husky Avery Brooks voice.... *g*

Yeah, I feel Mal/Inara, and I totally agree with you -- it could work as long as it existed in a story where Inara/Kaylee wasn't ignored.

I mean, Inara's so obviously hot for Mal. But is Mal hot for Inara? Or is he just hot for Serenity? (thanks, shrift!)

As for Zoe/Wash (see leadensky), I *don't* feel it, man. But if it helps, I'm all over Simon/River. *squirm*
