There's no folder called "presets" -- in my Photoshop 5.5 folder there are:

FOLDERS: Color Tables, Gradients, ImageReady Actions, Optimize, Patterns, and Styles

Then there are four...palette-looking things. One is called ImageReady Swatches.aco, the other three are Actions Palette, Adobe Photoshop 5.5 Prefs, and Color Settings.

NOW, all of those things above were in a folder called Photoshop 5.5 Settings. THAT, in turn, was in another folder, called Adobe Photoshop 5.5.

In THAT, TOP folder, we have the launch programs for Adobe ImageReady 2.0 and Adobe Photshop 5.5. We also have the Settings folder I inventoried above. And a readme.

THEN, we have the following folders: Goodies, Help, Helpers, License Agreements, Plug-ins, Registration, Required, and Training. There's also a version of Simpletext and a file of "Undocumented features."

Here's hoping you can make some sense of *that,* dear wenlet?
