tripping the cable fantastique
Feb. 20th, 2002 10:51 pmYesterday it was dark and today it's quiet, which is to say, the plane got in at midnight and they'd turned my power off, and I think I slept until now, not sure what today is, not sure what day it was when I got in except I woke up somewhere in there and it was dark and it's still dark. And my phone's off too, so I'm at the internet cafe across the street and I'm looking for Helen because I started work on the thing (call me call me call me) and it's her turn now.
And mostly it's something to do.
I was in LA. And now I'm not anymore.
"That must be difficult for someone like you," says Dana.
I'm either tired or thirsty, and I've got my cats but I can't see them. We saw a whole lot of people. And now we're back. And somewhere Runpunk's got fuzzy dice, and somewhere J. can breathe again, and G and I are just thirsty, or tired, or both.
I met two Bens writing screenplays last night, and they talked to me about Brooklyn and they sang the Muppets and they gave me their e-mail addresses and we agreed to exchange contacts, do that thang, bada-bing whatever. "I'm collecting Bens," I said, but what I meant was, I was in LA for a while and now I'm not anymore, and that's weird for someone like me.
