1. that Will Smith movie with the cute afro kid and the HORRIBLE SADNESS

Is it bad I reeeeaaallllly want to watch that megalodon movie? Worth it/not worth it? Because I am all about a shark movie with GIANT PREHISTORIC GREAT WHITES. I spent my childhood daydreaming about what would happen if megalodons were still around.

(It was a weird childhood.)

Also, I am very excited for the brain show! Although I have no idea when it starts.

Um, I quite enjoyed the big giant shark. There's nothing at all scary about this movie. At ALL. But Barrowman is funny and the shark is HUGE, seriously HUGE, so that's always fun.

SEE OPEN WATER, SRSLY. Have you seen it yet? SERIOUSLY, I require you to come unpack this movie with me, so SEE IT.

Awesome. I will go by Blockbuster's and get it when I hit Chicago tomorrow. You're talking to the girl who saw Deep Blue Sea twice, IN THEATERS. I have no real standards.

Also, I TOTALLY saw Open Water, right after you told me to, and I liked it a lot. I never expect to be frightened by these contemporary takes on the killer-shark genre, but it scared the crap out of me a couple of times. And more than that, I was impressed that it wasn't sensationalistic at all--I mean, I love Jaws but this was absolutely an effective answer to Jaws, this was a story about sharks that are terrifying just by behaving naturally. Bump, circle, retreat, return. Which was why it scared the crap out of me, I guess.

Exactly! Not scary because they come barrelling at you like a house afire -- scary because this is their ELEMENT, we're all alone out here, and they'll eat us when we're good and ready. That movie totally scared the pants off me. I think particularly the part where they found the mints? And saved some for later? /shuddering in remembrance

And I also saw Deep Blue Sea twice, at LEAST, in the theatres. But entirely because Samuel L. Jackson's demise = FOR THE WINNINGEST WIN EVER.

Yeah, see Megalodon and lemme know what you think.

Hi, I have never met anyone who shared a love that spanned continents, from Green Wing to NCIS to M*A*S*H to Band of Brothers, from Black Books to Michelle Gomez to David Tennant! I roll around and bask in things you love, and therefore have gotta share the love with YOUUUU.

God, yeah, the mints. And her throwing up when he was down checking out her leg bite, I just, ughhhh.

But entirely because Samuel L. Jackson's demise = FOR THE WINNINGEST WIN EVER.

Right?! After seeing it in theaters I rented it ENTIRELY so I could rewind that scene over and over.

Not to mention Sandi Toksvig, Diane Keaton, Sports Night, and the wonder that is Narn/Centauri relations at the Dawn of the Third Age of mankind...

AND Jeremiah, though we're going to need to have a Jeremiah/Markus vs. Jeremiah/Kurdy FACE-OFF.

AND, Simon & Garfunkel.

The mints. And the leg bite. And HIS bite, and how brave she was about it.

And Samuel L. Jackson. Rewound over and over and over, and ALWAYS FUNNY. ALSO LL Cool J's parrot, let's not forget.

Okay:

1, 4, 8, 10,11, 21, 24: yes, yes, yes, etc.

18: okay, perhaps I'm the only one to notice this, but with the exception of DW, it is impossible to hire Christopher Eccleston to play a role without having him do a sex scene. I have seen him naked a really ridiculous number of times. Not that I complain, because, right, Eccleston, but c'mon. He plays Jesus? Sex. He plays a teacher in an inner-city type school? Sex. Shakespeare didn't write a lot of sex scenes, but, yikes, there's Iago doing someone from behind. Christopher Eccleston, what are you like? Anyhow, if you like seeing him naked, I recommend that you download, uh, anything he's ever been in.

No, that man is naked everywhere. We watched Jude, The Second Coming, and With Or Without You in close succession. That man is all SKIN and MUSCLES and SPINE and ROUND SHOULDERS.

Eccleston = naked on Heroes? We'll find out!

1. that Will Smith movie with the cute afro kid and the HORRIBLE SADNESS

I cried during the fucking trailer, even as I was saying, "self! buck up, this has been expressly created to cause you to do this exact thing, which you do not want to do," but it did not one iota of good. oh, hell no.

OH! Oh, clearly you are awesome and like great things! Dude! And, oh, you have such a beautiful icon of Londo and Delenn and generally CLEARLY YOU LIKE ALL THINGS THAT ARE GOOD.

Also, y'know, Jeremiah/Markus, which is just CRAZINESS, but I am willing to overlook this. ;)

Though I'm afraid I know nothing of NCIS. And while I have sort of recently decided that Band of Brothers is clearly The Way Forward, I haven't actually seen any of it. But that aside, yes! I love all of these things and clearly if you love them also then you possibly WIN AT LIFE a bit. Dude! :D

But what I woefully left OFF the list was Slashing Blades slashfic! Which is clearly something that is of the good. Win/other guy! Skating with powerful and youthful thighs! And so on!

Tell Trin she'd better hurry up so we can give this emerging fandom the coming out it deserves. Anyone who's ANYONE will flock to Slashing Blades fandom, just you WATCH.

Not just any emotionally manipulative Will Smith movie with a cute kid...an emotionally manipulative Will Smith movie in which Smith co-stars WITH HIS OWN SON, AN ADORABLE KID.

Oh, yeah.

Yay! I'm on a list! And I'm itemized alongside other things that are rad, like Eccleston's naked back (which makes him SO MUCH MORE NAKED than other people -- wait until Clocking Off, when you get naked hip and thrusting!) and MEGLADON which we have just WATCHED, and OH MY GOD. I forgot they could make them that way. How did I forget? How?

Hope Shoemoney Haus was full of joyous gleeful Thanksgiving.

I finally watched the last ep of Doctor Who S2. Am more devastated than I should be. Watched it on the airplane, scared the man next to me who was taking up entirely too much room!! Girls crying over their laptops is apparently an unusual sight on Northwest.

if I were fully jacked-in to the brain-drive I might understand more of these items (we are more like Boomers than the Borg), but nonetheless you're always on my list of goodness. I am thinking up costumes! I need a gun (pretend) if I'm going to be Ziva, right? also a suit (thrift store) [zomg I saw the HOTTEST buttoned-up teacher-lady strip show at the party, complete with a girdle!] and pilot fatigues (also thrift store -- where did you get them?). [livejournal.com profile] mandysbitch wants to know if you'd find me hot in scrubs. did you see the internet-controlled vibrator??

ummmmm what did you email Mark? did he write back?? sometimes I gratuitously worry about whether you get my txts -- I have them saved for your later perusal.

you should read this BSG/House xover (http://community.livejournal.com/parrotfic/9646.html) (other people should read it too, probably? *waves*)
