So where's the really good, snowy, huddled-together-for-warmth, find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea post-"Call of the Wild" fic?

It's like 80 degrees here and suddenly I'm in the mood. I've never read any post-COTW, so whatever you rec me is bound to be the Right Stuff.

If you've written post-COTW you are morally and legally obligated to share the link/s with me right now.

Yeah. Fraser. Mmmmm. *wibble*

When I stop and think about it, I think all the post-CotW stuff I've written has been either *after* the adventureness all happened or just as a couple paragraphs in a bigger story.

But! Recs!

trickster, org isn't loading for me, so you don't get links to Res or Ces's pages (Ces has a *lovely* one that actually takes place between catching Muldoon at the end of CotW and when Ray and Fraser actually leave on their adventure), but here are a couple stories that come up first thing for me when I think quest fic:

O My America (http://www.dueslash.com/archive/69.html) by [livejournal.com profile] laurakaye
The Better Angels (http://www.squidge.org/dsa/archive/romance/betterangels.html) by [livejournal.com profile] thisisbone and [livejournal.com profile] cimmerians
Sliding (http://www.sageness.com/sliding.htm) by [livejournal.com profile] sageness
Loving North (http://www.squidge.org/dsa/archive/4/lovingnorth.html) by [livejournal.com profile] resonant8
In Which Ray Kowalski Embarks on an Adventure (http://www.squidge.org/dsa/archive/1/inwhich.html) by [livejournal.com profile] arallara

And, um, this technically counts in your description? But even though it's an awesome story, it's pretty much the textbook definition of ... not comfy and warm and curl-up-in-able. End of the Road by [livejournal.com profile] katallison

Oh! And plus I was going to say Punk's Verse Chorus Verse (http://runpunkrun.livejournal.com/125202.html), but I don't think I have to link you to Punk's fic, right?

I can't remember how post-CotW this is, but it is definitely post-CotW, and it is definitely awesome. (And 650k, which is virtually unheard of in these days of the LiveJournal flashfic.)

This is GREAT. I'm so printing these out and sitting in the sun and imagining I'm in the snow.

And I will check Res and Ces's pages on trickster when it's back up -- what's the name of the Ces story you mentioned?

Thank you thank you thank you and yay for tracing one warm line through our land so wild and savage!
