So what I'm doing is working on this mafia script and listening to my Zune on Shuffle All over here at Ground Work (hi Liz! I totally thought yesterday was Friday and that TODAY was Saturday, and, anyway, I'm a mess over here) and as a little treat to myself I'm jotting down a lyric from each song the Zune spits (unless I'm not paying attention or, somehow, working too hard to notice, in which case I might skip a song or two), and then we can all play that game that [livejournal.com profile] walkingshadow resurrected today.

Will continue listing lyrics here till I get bored, cold, or hungry, or until I finish these script notes -- whichever comes first. Um, heh.

2. dry is good and wind is better

"Sunny Came Home", Shawn Colvin.

9. and they be lining down the block just to watch what I got

Uh, Fergie, and it's possibly called "Fergelicious"? It's the one where they drive me nuts by misspelling "tasty", which does not have an E.

23. which is ridiculous 'cause witches they were persecuted

"I've Got a Theory", Once More With Feeling (Buffy).

30. how the hell can a person go to work in the morning, come home in the evening and have nothing to say?

"Angel from Montgomery", John Hiatt.

Seriously. T-A-S-T-E-E is not a word. But you're right as rain on everything, except that Angel From Montgomery is by John PRINE (not that there's no way that Hiatt did a cover, everyone does -- in fact, the cover I was listening to here was by Susan Tedeschi).

Bonnie RAITT + JOHN Prine = JOHN RAITT = JOHN HIATT! I see what yer brain did, there. *g*

Yeah, the BR/JP duet is, like, the one that sets the bar; the original. What a good friggin' song, also.

It very well could have been me, yes. I don't like to encourage the Canadian stereotype too much, but that song is one of my favourites.

#11 is Alanis - No Pressure Over Cappucino. Which I listened to and cried and cried some old days. Lovely.
#22 is Emmy Lou Harris with Bang the Drum Slowly
and #27 is Lyle "I would kiss him" Lovett with North Dakota one of the finest songs in the world

The icon is appropriate because it's called "look across the border"

Aw. I am sorry. The world is super-dumb lately, so it's no wonder you're confused by it.

Maybe Groundworks this afternoon? I have to pick up books for
reading, and I have to go to rehab, but there's a two hour chunk of time in the middle I need to fill...
