I said the same thing. He is actually cripplingly famous right now and the last thing he needs is a new host of crazed American sci-fi fans and teenaged swooning fangirls. Even as I was braving the teeming hordes at the Courtyard stage door, I was thinking, this guy's got to get off of Doctor Who as soon as possible; this amount of fan attention is destructive to him, and we're all watching it happen right before our eyes.
They're ALREADY talking about a possible Broadway run after Hamlet finishes on the West End. That at least would bring him to America as Hamlet, you know, instead of that other guy on TV who collects fans by the truckload....
