Mar. 20th, 2003 11:24 amIt's nice to know that
paulisper also watches these early morning prime-time-in-the-daytime ER episodes. There's a few things I can hang on to these days, early morning television's several of them.
And for the first time since this GWB, the Sequel, began, I'm more worried about them than us. And as for our troops, I wish they'd listened to the speech on Monday, the one that went something like, "you don't need to follow a commander in chief you don't believe in, be a patriot, 'I was just following orders' is no excuse."
Seriously, which is the dictatorial regime when Iraq's soldiers are willing to conscienciously object, and our troops are so brainwashed by the American concept of "duty" that it would never cross their minds?
And anyway, that's what I always found romantic about the army. In retrospect, of course, only. Because it's only about the fighting; it's never about the war.
