Second. I have a tattoo of a television. Which is to say. On the inside of my left forearm, in four colors, a tattoo of a TV set with knobs and static and antennae. I've wanted this for a long time. TV's important to me. I am now emblazoned, owned, claimed. I AM BECOME TELEVISION!
Third. I've got some fannish yuletide gifts up for grabs. Take 'em for yourself or give 'em to that special someone. What do you get for the fangirl who has everything?
1) Our Boys: this, for those just tuning in, is/was a Sorkinfic rec site that I used to maintain back when I was reading in those fandoms with more than a passing interest. For that special girl on your list with a penchant for preference and an investment in West Wing or Sports Night slash, Our Boys promises to make an excellent holiday present. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll giftwrap and deliver, free of charge. The lucky recipient will get the password, ftp information and original HTML files to the site, as well as the pride in knowing that she'll be responsible for the finest WW/SN recs site in the LAND! This site's been defunct long enough; it's time for the right fangirl to breathe life into Our Boys again. Comment below -- if more than one person wants to help out with Our Boys, fan-fucking-tastic; I love a committee. Jump on!
2) The Legacy Fanfiction Archive and The Legacy Proposal: as I said almost a year ago:
"I want to make a multifandom archive where every fic writer leaves one of their own stories, as a legacy for the future of fanfiction. Any genre, you know. Whatever. Your favorite story or your best story or your most significant or whatever. Oh, and we probably will need every author to write a little blurb about why she's leaving this as her legacy, too?"
If this sounds like a good idea to you or the girl who has everything on your list, check out the above link and then comment below. Committees welcome, etc, etc. This promises to be such a fantastic project. BE the fangirl who makes it possible!
This is what I have for Monday morning. I had an excellent weekend with fondue and tattoos, with Sputnik and her two enormous cats. If I were having any more fun I'd break into song; the only thing holding me back is the fact that my toe hurts.
I feel. Like myself. I'm enjoying that. Sputnik's a big part of it. The tattoo helps, too.
