More Yuletide recs, and, dude, don't worry if you don't know the fandom. I'm finding it makes very little difference in my enjoyment of some of the better stories. As evidenced by my recommendation of what I can only imagine is Jesus/paschal lamb slash?

Anyway. Yesterday's recs here, and today:



And the Evening and the Morning [OZ, Beecher/Schillinger] Beecher's third day in Oz. With all the little kindnesses that make the horror hospitable. The human touches. Innocent and scrappy and phenomenally beautiful.

Kosher [Lamb, Josh/Biff] and I only know that 'cause of the comments. Apparently Lambis a novel, but, anyway, this story rocks. Ridiculous and sacriligeous and funny and...like the kosher version of Hitchhiker's Guide. It can only make *more* sense to people who know the fandom, but me, I enjoyed it all by itself.

That Night She Dreamed of Stars [Cowboy Bebop, Faye/Jet] I'm not sure if this is the comics or the cartoon -- I've only read the graphic novels and never seen the show -- but this Faye seemed just like the Faye I know, too young to really know what she wants, scared anyway, eager, brilliant. After an event that I won't spoil, Faye has doubts, and Jet's the strong one today.

Running [Gattaca, Eugene/Jerome] Just a quick little vignette, but beautiful, and quite true to the movie, which, hello, was the slashiest thing since The Talented Mr. Ripley and helped pioneer a genre of Movies About People Who Want To Be Jude Law.

Thank you so much for reccing the "Lamb" story -- somehow I missed it while trolling the archive for fandoms I recognized, and the story is fantastic! (Whoever wrote that got the tone of the novel spot-on -- if you liked the story, you'd probably dig the novel, which is hilarious, if a hair sacreligious. *g*)
