So, I wrote the [livejournal.com profile] yuletide story Pissing in No-Man's Land, a Homicide yarn where Tim's in prison with six-pack abs and tattoos, and Kellerman's there too.

(I'll tell you, I was a little concerned about having written a Dark and not Sexy Fun yuletide fic, but [livejournal.com profile] tangleofthorns seemed to like it so perhaps it's okay. *g*)

Me, I'm altogether thrilled matching names to faces to yuletide stories, and discovering brand-new (to me) authors who, it turns out, have written some of my favorite stories of the bunch. So far, cheers to [livejournal.com profile] sanj who wrote that genius Harry/Neville, and to [livejournal.com profile] _aerye_ who wrote the knockout Will Bailey/Joe Quincy. Cheers to [livejournal.com profile] rrain who's responsible for that Twin Peaks story where she channeled Agent Cooper so completely I wanted pie. I've never read anything by any of you before, but I sure as hell will now. Nice job.

As for folks I know, go [livejournal.com profile] pearl_o for the terrific Saffron story! And of course [livejournal.com profile] kormantic wrote that brilliant Faye/Jet "Cowboy Bebob;" I should have recognized her inimitable style. And of course [livejournal.com profile] stellamaru wrote that perfect little Joan of Arcadia, where Grace has a crush on god and doesn't know it, really. And [livejournal.com profile] basingstoke wrote Beecher's third day in Oz and I was transported. (And you're talking to a girl who spent the last month and a half researching prisons, see Pissing in No-Man's Land above. *g*)

I need to poke more, I've only poked a little. But that's what I know so far in 2004.

As someone who's worked in prisons, I can tell you part of the reason I liked and rec'd No Man's Land was for the authentic feel of it. *g* You did a good job with the details.

Thank you! Have you read Jimmy Lerner's "You Got Nothing Coming" (from whence I stole the story's summary)? Excellent prison memoir of a new fish. Also "Behind Bars" was a terrific reference, sort of a guide to what to expect when you go to prison.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Maryland Department of Corrections for answering (almost) all my questions, and answering all my phone calls.

Thanks thanks thanks again for the liking and the rec'ing. As my roommate said, when I bragged about it, "and it's Destina!" So, no small feat. Thank you.
