So, meanwhile, in between applying for the job of Humourous Astrologer (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] shrift, [livejournal.com profile] christhetoken), fighting with this computer and trying to write a pilot about space--

In between being sucked into [livejournal.com profile] prillalar's pit of Drabbling--

I've accidentally started reading Jurassic Park III slash.

When I came out of this movie, lo those many years ago, I said to the Internet, I said, Jurassic Park III is the slashiest movie I've seen this year, but even then, I didn't really think there was anyone out there who'd take the bait, anyone out there who legitimately thought this thing was a fandom. Huh. Shows to go me.

The Alan/Billy slash -- because I'm pretty sure this fandom doesn't need another pairing -- is where it's at, and while a lot of it is drek, some of it is highly readable, so I figured I'd share.

Cori Lannam's stuff is best, I recommend Third Time Under [39k, NC-17] for good old fashioned First Time and feelin' the love. Her shorter piece, Lucky Strap ain't half bad either, though you need to care a little more about this Billy character than I do for it to resonate.

Jen Faulkner's slash is highly tasty too, with 110 in the Shade for some NC-17 PWP at the ol' swimmin' hole, or You Won't Fall, which is a solid R with flashbacks and old-school UST and angst.

Nix's All a Matter of Impulse is solidly mediocre but has lube; Elfin's Development is also just average but has some fair First Time smut going on.

And then there's Sithkitten, with Once Bitten, which I haven't read yet but which is 162k (and then continues as a series!) so that's always promising, and Sithkitten's how I got here in the first place.

She wrote three Jeremiah slash stories, Jeremiah/Markus, even, which are incredibly average but lengthy and meaty, and have the honor of being the first (and before [livejournal.com profile] killabeez, the only) J/M stories on the internet. So I'm fairly certain I'll plow through her JP3 fic, find them average and satisfying, and fill that jones and go on to live another day.

I post this here on the off-chance it'll be interesting to any of you, on the even off-er chance some among you will write Alan/Billy for me, and as a general PSA to alert the fannish community to the fact that JP3 is among the slashiest movies ever.

Bedtime!

Ahhh, I actually rented it and watched it twice, goggling at the slash, wondering what happened. The first movie, all about the dinosaurs, as I was quite young and the entire family was struck by dinosaur fever - like many other families at the time, I'm sure. The second movie, waste of time and I thought a third part would be about as good as, say, Highlander III. Imagine my surprise. There's this music vid for it that I've watched more times than is strictly healthy. Naturally I cannot remember where I got it from, but, uh, it's good.

This is where I'm struck by a sudden sinking feeling and turn around to behold my humble DVD library. Oh dear. It's there. I completely forgot. Theirloveissojurassic!

omg. dude. yes. I watched that movie in Argentina, which was the vacation I watched SO MUCH TV in the hotel, and I was *shocked* at the amount of slash that got by. I suppose since it was a pathetic third sequel they figured no one would see it anyway so it could be as homoerotic as it wanted.

"If you die, it's just me and the tourists." LOVE LOVE LOVE. thanks for the fic links! i haven't been able to find anything until now.

Ah, yes.

I remember that fandom. *pets it* It was born on Rareslash, soon got its own list, and was all but dead within a few months.

I remember that, because I brought that film up on Rareslash in the first place. For some strange reason I saw it in the theatre opening weekend. *coughs*

I never actually wrote anything for it though. Maybe I should do that. *g*

In a strange coincidence, I just saw this movie for the first time tonight. (I also saw the first two parts of Band of Brothers, but that's not so much of a coincidence; you encouraged that.) Thanks for the links!

In another strange coincidence, I'm making M*A*S*H drabbles in the Drabble-matic with you in mind. *g*

Keep watching BoB! We need you!

Aww, I'm flattered.

I certainly will. I'm probably going to have to rent the second two parts next weekend, after all my papers are finished, but I'm loving it.
