I had all sorts of things I'd intended to say, watching the last eight eps of Jeremiah tonight. I made all these little mental notes, about what a terrific ep "The Question" was, about how much I loved Mister Smith, about how the backrub scene brought me face-first against the fact that it turns out I'm only feeling the Markus/Erin love, and that I ain't a slasher in this fandom after all. Silly, silly me*. Oh I had all sorts of things to say, and then I got to "Interregnum, Part I" and I had heaps more to say, largely about how I'd just assumed from the beginning that Daniel was [spoiler] and was puzzled no end to see this come as a surprise to our intrepid crew, how much I adore Sims and his perpetual shaving and drawling Blue Ridge Mountains accent -- so many things to say but then "Interregnum, Part II" showed up and reduced all of my lucid media critique to: GUH

[*ETA: by way of [livejournal.com profile] morgandawn, Killa pointed out that the scene with Erin's all the proof we ever needed that Markus is gay as a kite. "There's always hope" my sweet patootie, says I. I had a crush on a gay boy in high school and was told, not unkindly, "you're barking up the wrong tree" and it sounded a hell of a lot like that. This being why my love affair with the Markus/Erin ship was so short-lived. Plus, you know, he's mine. *g*]

Followed soundly with a host of cat-scaring out-loud Holy Fucking Oh my GOD GUH and some maniacal arm-waving.

Jeremiah fandom? All six of you? Where are you when I need you? Where are you when I need to swoon and moan and holler to the four road high heavens a barbaric yawping fangirlish GUH!

This is a girl in love. with Markus IN LOVE with this show, I tell you.

There'll be time for lucid commentary later, as well as the more critical reflection that inevitably comes with time and recovery from the first blush of oh my LORD a DRESS uniform holy CRAP GUH and the sweeping knowledge that any hope any of us might have had for future fanfic in this fandom has been soundly scooped by JMS, and so gloriously!

Later time to reflect on how much better episodes are when they focus on Kurdy and Markus, how Jeremiah slunk into the sidelines with his own crusade and I like him so much better that way, how much I love Kurdy and want to write his biography when the time comes for him to retire, penniless and loved, like Ulysses S Grant. Later, time for all of that. For now, because it's as true for me as it was then, and because GUH-

"I wasn't asleep."

I don't have Showtime so that I can be all passionate about this show with you. Alas!

YES. And if you treat them very nicely I will loan you my S1 DVDs. Preferably in exchange for a basketball-playing film student? *g*

It's enough you'll watch Firefly and squee along with me, one thing at a time.

But Jeremiah leaves 'em all in the dust. More specifically, the last eight eps of Jeremiah leave 'em all in the dust, gasping and panting and staring worshipfully.

I don't understand. The Showtime site says that only seven episodes of season 2 have aired, and I have those, but you sound as though you've seen episodes that haven't been aired here, but maybe they have and I missed them because I'm too fucking stupid.

I'm confused, and I'm going to hide over in a corner away from everyone and maybe watch my Starsky & Hutch DVDs that for some reason amazon.com sent me. I love Starsky, and I like Hutch.

No, you're right -- they haven't aired in the US, but they aired in Canada and ended up on the Internet and the intrepid [livejournal.com profile] killabeez burned them to DVD for me. And of course my Mac wouldn't play the DVDs, so, you know, I bought a new computer. *g* Meet my new computer! Lennier, Gail. Gail, Lennier.

Showtime ostensibly has plans to air the final eight episodes this spring, according to the website, so you should be able to watch them there. And/or, if I can figure out how to copy these things, I'll send 'em to you. Did you ever watch the rest of the first season? Such a good show. You will like.

I wish amazon.com sent *me* Starsky & Hutch.

Sabine:

I've been here all along. I've been trying to help, in the dark, with my hands tied behind my back. But no one ever let me know what they needed. One time you said to let you know if I had tapes ready. I finally almost did. Then I heard you had them from someplace else. Then I looked at my userinfo and realized that the reason you didn't *know* I had tapes ready was because you don't actually read my blog (silly me).

I love your writing.

I wrote a coda to The Question, but never posted it because I didn't know who saw what.

And since JMS was so sneaky in letting Jeremiah die...it's pretty much cancelled from what I hear.... (bummed out)

We don't *need* Showtime with the Nets

We can download whatever we need off of UseNet! If, of course, we watch and wait. Then, there is always IRC, the last Internt Wild Frontier!

I'd love to read your post-The Question piece, if you don't mind sharing...

I did get the episodes, thanks so much, but there are other folks out there we should find and spread the Jeremiah love. I know you had mentioned setting up a tape tree, and I am all for it, though at the moment my second VCR is dead so I'm not a good go-to gal for dubbing. I'm gonna get down to Best Buy or something soon to nab a new VCR, and will keep you posted. And then, we should advertise, figure out who wants to watch Jeremiah and make sure we get tapes into their hot little hands.

I was also under the impression Jeremiah was a dead duck, but then at Escapade this weekend someone mentioned that *JMS* hadn't signed on for a third season, leaving open the possibility of a third season *sans* JMS. Whether it'd be worth watching or not is another story entirely. Plus, Erin's gonna leave the Mountain, *sigh.*

Anyway, I would love to read your fic -- let me know where I can find it, will you?

Then I should fine tune the coda. Also, I wanted to let you know my copies of the final 8 are from digital sources. So some of the episodes have a few glitches. Oh, and according to LJ-Match, our personalities are 95% compatible. Really! Check here! [livejournal.com profile] innogen
