I mean. Duh. But at the same time, the very nature of the *question* baffles me. Are we comparing these things now? Is this like when we decided homosexuality was akin to bestiality and, I dunno, cheating at poker?

No, no. People who cheat at poker, like people who talk in the theatre, are going to the Very Special Hell reserved for people who do great evil.

People who stuff CNN poll ballots deserve a luxury box in the Very Special Hell too, I think. They can have the perpetual "shushing" section, next to poor Mal and Saffron, in front of the Guy Who Didn't Turn His Cell Phone Off, and behind the Really Tall Woman Who Insists on Leaning On Her Boyfriend's Shoulder Thus Blocking Your View.

I don't think they need to do much poll stuffing; the site's primary audience is predominantly conservative (which is why I was shocked that poll result and the current one weren't entirely right wing driven).

At the moment, "Should the U.S. Constitution be amended to ban same-sex marriages?" is running at 55% No, 45% Yes. This is strange and unusual for CNN. It would normally be a significant lead for "Yes".

Strike that, reverse it. Lemme say: "people who write CNN polls."

Mom and I were laughing on the phone the other day about the fact that people still refer to the "liberal media bias." My KINGDOM for a liberal media bias! I miss the 1970s and I wasn't even old enough to read the paper then -- gimme Reds under the bed any day of the week. *sniff*

*raises a glass to the dear departed liberal media elite*

Indeed, or maybe just rampant insipidness (insipidity? insipiditude?) on the part of the poll writers.

My favorite poll so far was the one that ran opposite the headline about the draft study indicating 11,000+ molestation cases against American Catholic priests, which read: "Do you think the child molestation crisis in the Catholic church is out of control?"
