hot child in the city, cat-eating bird.

Two things:
1. I'm in the thrall of Mystery of Time and Space, which is a GUI interactive game. Currently I'm stuck in the room with the fireplace and the triangular object and the cabinet that I can't see into for some reason. Also the big scary hand. But I'm going out to do errands and when I come back I'll assume you all will have lapped me, at which point I can ask for hints. (
ratcreature,
mace_m, I am counting on both of you. Also
jood).
2. Apparently I'm the only one utterly non-nonplussed by my Farscape Ficathon assignment. I'm quite happy with what I got, and I almost have ideas, which is a whole other matter, and requires watching tapes of episodes I don't think I have and will therefore have to harangue someone into providing for me.
In this, I've realized I'm far, far less fannish about Farscape than I am/have been about shows I've been...fannish about. Watched an episode yesterday (title withheld for the sake of possible prowling Ficathon people) and was completely underwhelmed. Which isn't to say it's not a smart show. It is. It's just not my show. Which is, go figure. But give me Delenn or Londo or Lennier any day.
That being said, stay tuned.
andrastewhite and I are gearing up to provide the Next Great Ficathon, one which even you won't wanna miss.
The preceding was a paid advertisement.
3. I now know, with unfair intimacy, precisely what the cat who ate the canary looks like. I can also tell you that despite what you've heard, the cat-bird seat is not nearly as appealing as it sounds, and I'd recommend something in the loge.

And I know what you mean about Farscape. I really, really like it, and admire it, and am occasionally frustrated by it, but I never had the urge to write fanfic, and I never obsessed about the characters and storylines the way I did for B5.
What ficathon would that be?

Date: 2004-04-26 07:12 am (UTC)This is meant to be Farscape-oriented, if I'm reading these mysterious posts correctly.
Haven't seen Kill Bill, either one. Want to! Cannot read your post, darn it.

Date: 2004-04-26 11:01 am (UTC)You know, I think I could actually manage to do that. I loved their scenes in I-Yensch, You-Yensch.

Date: 2004-04-28 01:36 am (UTC)You know we would never do such a thing. We'd make it Vedek Bareil/Brother Theo/Book, ro really stump you ... oh, wait, you didn't offer to write Firefly. Damn *g*.
Looking at the sign ups we have to date, I think I can safely say that we'll find you something you can manage on the list - fourteen writers already, and a bunch more who are thinking about what they want to request.

For the mere suggestions alone, you shall suffer.

Date: 2004-04-30 01:53 am (UTC)Waaah! You are an evil and cruel woman. Torture me, if you must, but spare Londo, I beg you.
I wish I could say that I hadn't thought of Cartagia considering that, but I'd be lying. He was certainly sick enough to try it. The idea of Londo drawing his knowledge of Narn anatomy from such a source is shudder-inducing yet strangely appropriate.

Date: 2004-04-30 03:18 am (UTC)And you only, like, realized that now?
The idea of Londo drawing his knowledge of Narn anatomy from such a source if shudder-inducing yet strangely appropriate.
That was what I had in mind, once I had hit upon the idea. I don't know what it says about my own psyche that when I started to wonder how Londo, who as opposed to G'Kar has had no sexual experience with Narn (of either gender), would know, this explanation came up...

Date: 2004-04-30 07:15 pm (UTC)Well, it bears repetition.
I don't know what it says about my own psyche that when I started to wonder how Londo, who as opposed to G'Kar has had no sexual experience with Narn (of either gender), would know, this explanation came up...
Cartagia is adept at sending the mind in dark and horrible directions, I'll give him that.
