Look, kids, cupcakes!

ETA: Actually, it's a wee bit dark, because things tend to be more contrasty in Image Ready than they are in either Photoshop or real life. So I might go back into Photoshop and "select color range" a little, try and bring his face out of that shadow. I'd also like to play with the pewtery effect of the flask, which [livejournal.com profile] runpunkrun was able to make a gorgeous burnished color but I lost it when I put the reddish wash on.

I also wish I had a "tweed" texture effect to use for that background and his coat, hm. I wonder where I can download textures for Image Ready?

Still! Squee! The Hemingwayesque Captain Lewis Nixon!

For I'm discovering the healing powers of a new green wash.

No reason my homies here can't enjoy these as well. Plus I just said "homies" which is really remarkable, there.

So, some Speirs icons:

.:..:..:..:.

And if you know or care who this fellow is, enjoy!

GIP, for it is 6:36 and I am still awake and it's work tomorrow. So phhhbbbllt. *sigh*

So I was actually gonna *invent* this meme but it seems someone beat me to it. Since I tend to take visual snapshots of my imaginary computer friends (that'd be y'all) and they appear, much like my impressions of various fandoms do, in colors and textures and icons.

[livejournal.com profile] prillalar, for example, who I've never met in person, looks like Captain Hook to me. And [livejournal.com profile] wearemany, with whom I've shared a bed countless times and who I could sketch with my eyes closed, still, in this box, looks like Russell Crowe shouting about REARS AND VICES. [livejournal.com profile] qowf, one of my very first fandom-real-life crossover people, will always be Aragorn, to the point where when I was watching RotK, every time Viggo came on the screen I half expected Lucas to be perched on his hip with a cute hat on.

So what about me? Past or present icons, or see them here; what does Sab look like? Which of my icons best represents me?
sab: (shoot 'em ivanova)
Hey. [livejournal.com profile] tangleofthorns and [livejournal.com profile] gem225. Have you met? You are both in Boston. You should take this opportunity to say hello and then, like, go see a show at Passim or the Middle East together. Because you'd like one another and you also share musical tastes.

This has been a Sabbish PSA.

And yet, this is somewhat upsetting.
I suppose it could be worse.
I could be Emily Dickinson.

Virginia Woolf
You are Virginia Woolf! You were openly bisexual
and had public affairs, but you never liked
sex. You wrote a seminal feminist work, long
before feminists knew that they were feminists.
In this vein, you never really considered
yourself a feminist. You were a tragic figure,
but a damn genius.

Which Western feminist icon are you?
