[livejournal.com profile] septicemic made me a Colonel Sink icon, because my love for Dale Dye knows no bounds. Look, [livejournal.com profile] furies, look!

Also, some girl's doing a thing and I'm nothing if not helpful:

As a project for my Evolution Class, I need all of YOUR help. Copy the meme below into your own journal, then post a comment here linking to the post in which this meme can be found. Next, for your listening pleasure, a story about space.
sab: (i wanna leave the room)
Okay, so I've gathered my stray and wandering VHSs and have somewhat arbitrarily assigned them to recipients as follows, and I've got addresses on many of you, so just sit back and relax and the tapes shall arrive:

Babylon 5 Season 4 -- [livejournal.com profile] mazily
Jeremiah -- [livejournal.com profile] chr0me_kitten and [livejournal.com profile] ealgylden (iffen you send me your address? Also, [livejournal.com profile] innogen, if you can organize a tape tree, count me in.)
M*A*S*H -- [livejournal.com profile] ngaio (postage to the UK should run about $20 slow media boat, how's that?)
All the Star Treks I can shake a stick at -- [livejournal.com profile] seemag (esp. if you send me your address)
X-Files seasons 6 or 7 -- [livejournal.com profile] seemag (see above)
X-Files Season 5 -- [livejournal.com profile] bionic (pls. send address, yo)
X-Files Season 3 -- [livejournal.com profile] chr0me_kitten

Now. I've done a little more tallying, and I've still got plenty of VHSs that could use appreciative families willing to adopt.

Some movies now. These are all VHS, all in their original, official cardboard boxes. Please be a trooper and request more than one so's we can double up on shipping.

  • The Vanishing, Kiefer Sutherland, Jeff Bridges, Sandra Bullock disappears and Jeff Bridges is insane.
  • Cookie's Fortune, a Robert Altman flick, with Glenn Close and Liv Tyler, and Julianne Moore is insane.
  • Anaconda, J. Lo and Eric Stoltz are graduate students, I swear to god. And there's a giant snake, and Jon Voight is insane.
  • The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, your standard subway hijacking with Walter Matthau as a sly and wry transit cop. Meanwhile, Robert Shaw is insane and has a hat.
  • Affliction, Nick Nolte is insane, and it's snowing.
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey, HAL is insane.
  • The Apostle, Robert Duvall's undergone an insane transformation, and this is an Academy Screener.
  • Mercury Rising, Bruce Willis is warm and cuddly, there's a wee autistic kid, and Alec Baldwin is insane.
  • Dr. Zhivago, *I* must be insane for getting rid of this one.
  • Coma, a Robin Cook medical thriller, where strange deaths at the hospital drive Genvieve Bujold insane, and Michael Douglas doesn't believe her.
  • The Pentagon Papers, an FX original movie.
  • Thanks of a Grateful Nation, a Showtime original movie about Gulf War syndrome.
  • FRIENDS academy screener, with, um. Five episodes of Friends were TOW stands for "the one with" or "the one where": TOW Ross Got High, TO that Could Have Been pts. 1 & 2, TOW the Proposal pts. 1 & 2. That's not a movie and nobody's insane. Well, you know, except Ms. Chanandler Bong.

Next, seriously, a post about space.
sab: (otp of the revolution)
[livejournal.com profile] killabeez! My Jeremiah discs came and there's no better birthday present in the world.

On the other hand! I can't get my actual DVD player to play them, and my computer spits the discs out. Any thoughts? What format are the eps saved in, anyhow?

SO CLOSE but yet SO FAR, grrrr. *staring mournfully at this pretty pretty stack of green discs*
sab: (rodeo girl)
1. Being somewhat about space, if I could borrow someone well-versed in Firefly for a moment I'd be extremely grateful; takers?

2. Since I never asked -- anyone got a desire to hear me laugh my way through a DVD commentary on anything?

*

Soon there's going to be a post about space. I'll give you the teaser. If we don't go to Mars, I mean, we, as humans, and soon, I swear to god I don't know what the meaning of life is.
sab: (best care anywhere)
HEY. Has anyone seen or heard from [livejournal.com profile] gem225? I get worried.
