Isaac just told us he was 63. Then it was the 49th anniversary of the shot heard 'round the world, The Giants win the pennant! The Giants win the pennant!

So all I'm saying is, Isaac covered that game when he was fourteen. Precocious one, our Isaac.

also, being as I am, you know, awake, I'm going to try and use this time for productive matters. Like cleaning my house.

For that, I'll require another sweater.

Also, he's from St. Louis and he was covering NY games. And did you notice in Dear Louise that he started as a stringer from Atlanta?

I actually asked once about black sports reporters in the 1950s, cause you know, even NY isn't perfect. And here's my theory:

Shortly after stating he was 63, Isaac turned 64. He was 15 when the game was played. He was a cub reporter for one of the local neighborhood papers that NY has, and then he, you know, went to Atlanta for collge (Morehouse, say) and then moved to St. Louis.

But, yeah, it's fucked.
