1. Of the people you're still in contact with, who was the first you met online? When and how?

I'll tell you, I bet it was [livejournal.com profile] qowf. I sent her feedback on "Queen" (M, please provide relevant URL as I'm on my work computer and don't have you bookmarked here) because it was so marvelously awesome. This would have been in the fall of 1999. Right?

2. Who was the first online XF friend you met in person? When and how?

hmmm. Dude, I don't know. help me: [livejournal.com profile] mischa, [livejournal.com profile] ropo, [livejournal.com profile] lizlet -- did we meet before I went to Chicago? I feel we probably did. If not, [livejournal.com profile] qowf again, side by side with Fialka at the airport at 3 am because my flight was so horribly delayed. they took herbal crank. I drank bloody marys. We came home and drank beer on the couch until the sun came up.

3. Which people you first met online have you since met in person?

people I've met first in XF. it's all such a blur now. I'll pretend we mean YV, in which case I've met all of YV except for Jess and Galia, I think. right? Oh and I haven't met [livejournal.com profile] cazling. I want to! And some others I've met, strays and compatriots. [livejournal.com profile] corianderstem. Kim. Haphazard Method. Barbara D. who else have I met, Robbie? Robbie always knows these things. point is, we're coming up on several dozen. Most of whom I've hung with several times. stacks of folks. Tasty folks!

4. What person you first met online AND have met in person lives the farthest away from you? Where does s/he live, and when did you meet (if it's not answered in #2)?

[livejournal.com profile] appelsini lives in Perth, natch. I can't recall if I met her first in XF, but we'll pretend I did. she came/saw/conquered and then went home, like 30k miles away.

5. Other than Scullyfic Spring Training or Scully Marathon or other truly large-scale gathering, what's the largest group of online friends you've met with at the same time?

I'm not on Scullyfic, and I've never been to any of those large-scale wossnames, but that first Chicago gettogether was thickly attended, 18 or so YVers, right? Then later they came to LA in droves. Once we went to SF in droves. Mangoes congealed on the surface of New York in droves, congealed elsewhere in SF in smaller bundles.

I've lost the distinction between people I've met online and people I know in person. It's been too long, and then there was YV and then Mango and people like Punk and [livejournal.com profile] pene. who can't in good conscience be answers to these questions, though I did meet them first online, did meet them first through fic. "Come here often?" Like that. [livejournal.com profile] wearemany flew halfway across the country to find me.

Blame it on fic, right? It's pretty goddamned amazing.

Heee! You really should. Vermont in the summer, baby. It's cooler in them thar mountains. Except last summer with the fuckin' heatwave, but whatevah.

I'd be scared to meet you and G. a bit, because you're so clever and cool, but still, we could go to the Warren Store and eat the nicest sandwiches on earth and buy Burlington Magic Hat beer (and this year, I actually can! Now if only I drank beer...) just for the Zen quotes under the bottletops. *g*
