The combination of AOL and a Mac over here has made me nearly ready to sell my soul back to Bill Gates. I have no *idea* how to use these things.

Also my Free Trial! AOL seems to enjoy booting me off and then not letting me dial up. So I'm taking advantage of the sliver of time I'm actually online to answer some questions from [livejournal.com profile] runpunkrun.

1. What's the one fandom you wish you could write fanfic for? Why haven't you? Is there a fandom you miss writing for?

I'd write Harry Potter if Resonant hadn't already written the perfect fic in that fandom. *g* Also, it's one of those complicated canon fandoms, like Star Wars, almost, where despite the fact that I've read the books and seen the movie I don't quite feel like I know it well enough. I miss Babylon 5, but sort of in this way where I wish I'd been writing fic for it when it was on the air, where there was actually a sizeable fandom around it. I miss DS9 for a similar reason -- I wish I'd been a better writer back when I wrote in it, and now I feel I could do it justice, except I don't quite care.

2. What fic of yours would you rewrite? What would you do to it?

Ohhh, Where Have You Gone, Tom Glavine?, because it deserves to be perfect. I'd make it punchier and funnier and less maudlin. Fix the beginning and the end, certainly. I may yet.

3. Back in the day, Loch Ness wrote an excellent X-Files fic loosely based on Casablanca. What book or movie would you adapt for fanfic?

Cube? I'd have a hell of a time sticking our people in a Cube. Dude! Maybe a Cube fic! Who should I put in the Cube? Casey? Ephram? Garak? Hermione? Ainsley? Runpunk! This could be even better than the one where Leo and Danny Concanon are stuck in the elevator. Oooh, CUBE FIC. Thinking.

4. If you could write for any TV show currently on the air, which would it be? Give a summary of what you might want to do for one episode.

Sure, English Major. *g* It's a good question though. Hard! Especially because I don't watch anything current. Except Jeremiah, and it's not so good. I could try a big gay Everwood, something where Ephram has to compete in a state piano tournament and travels alone on a bus around the country. It'd be like Almost Famous, except with high school band players rather than an actual band. Or like Little Man Tate. And they'd stay in hotels and try to out-pretentious each other and Ephram would call Colin on the phone from the hotel room and bitch.

5. What actor or actress would you write a screenplay around? What sort of a role would you give them?

I like my boy Ron Livingston. I'd send him to the army but it's already been done. He'd also be a nice lead in a romantic comedy, but I'm not sure I know how to write a romantic comedy. We could hook him up with Alicia Witt or something. They'd be professors, or truckers. Probably truckers. Oh, maybe they work in a trucking OFFICE. And she has a retarted brother? And he gets involved in a botched heist? Or she does? But anyway they hate each other and then they fall in love. And they DEFINITELY get the money in the end. Ricky Jay could be in, too. And Billy Bob Thornton.

Why or why not?

Sure, English Major. *g*

No problem, Aspiring Screenplay Writer!

I want to read a "five things that never happened in a Cube" fic from you. You can even put truckers and Ron Livingston in. Heh, truckers in a cube.
