Oct. 6th, 2003 10:50 pmHey- any Harry Potter fic recs? Preferably dealing with members of the current Hogwarts generation (though fic set in the future's good too), IE Harry, Draco, Ron, Hermione, Cho Chang, Ginny Weasley, that rat pack.
Someday I'll plunge into the Lily/James/Sirius/Remus/Snape end of things, but not right this minute.
Rec me, won't you? And toss up links, because I don't know a thing about anything except
resonant8.

Date: 2003-10-06 11:37 pm (UTC)I'll check back here to see who gives you recs, cause I'm on the lookout too. Ahh, I forgot how hard it is to find good writers when you are brand new to a fandom.
I find I'm swiftly becoming a fan of the Hermione/Snape pairing (who knew?!). I can wholeheartedly rec Kalinalea's Buried Life (http://www.geocities.com/kalinalea) also I'm really enjoying Desperate Measures -- though it's a WIP with the end a long way off. I like all her stuff actually. I really loved Buried Life, though.
Let me know if you find other fabulous stuff!

Date: 2003-10-07 03:53 am (UTC)Lust Over Pendle (http://www.schnoogle.com/authorLinks/A_J_Hall/Lust_Over_Pendle/), by AJ Hall -- Draco/Neville, and yes, I know, I said that, too. But it's good.
L'Heure Bleu (http://www.oggham.com/words/archives/000538.html), by Dale Edmonds -- which might not count as famous, I'm not sure... HP/BtVS crossover, in exactly the way you wouldn't think to expect, and IMO absolutely gorgeous.
Like nearly all of Halrloprillalar's stories, her HP stuff, here (http://prillalar.com/fic/stories/cat_harry_potter.php), is wonderful and short and it often has teeth.
Breakfast (http://hiptothekids.com/maki/jock/fic/breakfast.html), by Glockgal, and Oliver's Nocturnal Emissions (http://hiptothekids.com/maki/jock/fic/nocturnal.html),
by Reishin -- stories like this have made George/Oliver my slightly-weirded-out obscure OTP.
Thirst (http://www.livejournal.com/users/reenka/126307.html?view=685923#t685923/), by Reenka -- Hermione, stretched to the ends of herself and a little further.
Also, Te's recs page has some excellent fics listed.
