I found! This song that a friend of mine in high school played for me; it'd been written by a friend of *his* and recorded, you know, on a walkman in someone's basement somewhere.

When I lost that tape I was sure I'd lost the song forever, but ten years later it seems these guys are a band called Center Divide, and offer MP3s, no waiting. Dude.

Anyway, I hereby offer you Back in '77 (mp3), formerly known as The Star Wars Song. If you're curious, here are the lyrics.

A more profound update, waxing poetic on sunrise over the desert and the features shared by [livejournal.com profile] _maayan and French toast forthcoming; first I have to watch the rest of It's A Wonderful Duncan MacLeod.

This must be that tape you were telling me about that you played so much it broke? or wore out? or got lost? If so, you told me about that tape.

I'm downloading.

It is that tape exactly. I thought it was so gone forever and look! Amazing.

I am also so very glad you're alive and have recovered from the sandworms. We'll talk about Clark this week? Also you have to help me with a blowjob situation.

That is so exciting you found them online.

I am almost fully recovered from the sandworm flu, as long as we define "fully recovered" as "okay as long as I'm sitting down." But I can work with that. I'm writing Clark as we speak, and I can totally help you with a blowjob situation.

What I really need is good peppermint ice cream but I 1) don't know where to find any and 2) couldn't go there to get it even if I knew.

Pusher!

Friendly's. Do you have Friendly's in your part of the world? Or does it only come in places with Ikea?

We're watching "Pusher," which is an episode of the television show The X-Files, starring Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. Plus Pusher is Jeremiah's dad in Jeremiah and also probably lots of other Canadian people. Pusher!

This is actually because of [livejournal.com profile] wearemany, or, you know, as a direct result of said, because [livejournal.com profile] _maayan and I were playing I'm Thinking Of An X-Files Episode in the car on the way to the desert. It also turns out I suck at I'm Thinking Of A Farscape Episode. It's a good thing I wrote the series bible. *g*

Anyway. The blowjob situation is fascinating, and I will share it with you via e-mail. But first. Pusher!

Isn't it, though?

It really *is* touching. It's an anthem for our generation!

i am laughing so hard that in a post to PUNK you felt the need to, you know. further clarify what episode that was. pusher is also chloe's dad. he gets around.

are you watching my tapes? because then it would be both a direct result AND as an indirect result of the best road trip game ever. the only answer that counts: is it the one with the evil PTA?

i miss you! but i will be there on friday. or possibly late thursday. how do you feel about that?

They *are* your tapes, you're so right. And I was only clarifying it to Punk to specify that it was not, in fact, Pusher, the female celebrity Britney Spears.

Now we're watching "Little Green Men" which is one of my favorite episodes. PLUS! Maayan told me "Wetwired" isn't a classic ep. It so IS. Am I wrong? Am I the only one who considers this episode part of, say, the X-Files Top Ten All-Timers?

Thursday is terrific. M is leaving tomorrow. I'm working this week but still, I can't wait to see you either.

On a whim, I googled a line from the song, got that lyrics page, and then searched for "Center Divide." Ah, the internet.
