Tail.

I found the tail that corresponded to the lizard you may recall from earlier in this zoo.

The tail is no less than ONE FOOT long. For the Europeans, that is. Well, it's like a third of a meter, is what it is. Sitting there disembodied under my desk, making time with Little Plastic Lennier and Little Plastic Chiana (who have, incidentally, begin a very quiet and surreptitious affair, not to be outdone by Boba Fett and Wondermom whose romance is legendary all over the bottom two shelves of my bookcase).

The tail is dark green, scaly, and riddled with teethmarks (which I consider rather disappointing if only because they take away from its inherent resale value) and the bitten-off end has cauterized nicely. I put it on my shelf, along with the bird bones [livejournal.com profile] _maayan and I found at the Salton Sea.

Edith's just unsatisfied with the ecosystem we have here; she's trying to recreate a Brazilian jungle, I think, what with the birds and lizards. I think she was a leopard in another life.

The lizard is what does me in. Alice will bring in crickets and grasshoppers, but *lizards?* Eeps!

Obviously, your Edith and my Alice are either soul mates or separated at birth.

I have a deep suspicion against Alice being gay (Thomas, however, has already gone after other male cats; we *know* he's gay), seeing as how when she goes into heat she is attracted to everything male.

So they're more likely twins. It's the fact that they both have neat, human names.

I'm sure if I let Lucas outside, he'd bring back all sorts of crazy stuff, starting with all the pigeons and squirrels around here. They drive him NUTS and he'll spend hours at a time sitting in front of a window, chittering at them.

And bird bones? Too cool.

Your animal stories are intriguing and a little unsettling! Well mostly just the one about the bird watching you.

In my Florida we'd always be finding lizard skeletons under beds and behind things; are you sure the tail won't end up rotting? Although then skeleton tail, woo.

(Also: hopefully tomorrow is not to late to get you the River comments? 'cause I have things to say, yes, but am all sleepy and scattered now.)
