Hey, Internet, listen. [[livejournal.com profile] _maayan, I am, as always, lookin' at *you*]

My roomie, the wise and wonderful [livejournal.com profile] ptpatricia is moving back to Chicago at the end of the month. I'm gonna miss her awfully. Also, this leaves me with a housemate vacancy, and I want to put out to the fannish world first dibs on filling it. 'Cause obviously, I'd rather live with a fannish type if I had my druthers, and, really, who wouldn't?

That being said:

We've got a two-bedroom duplex in Hollywood, CA, with driveway parking and a front yard and a kumquat tree. Two cats. And me!

If you, or someone you love, wants to come live with me (for $600/month plus 'lectricity and cable internet) please shoot me a line, either here or sabine101 at juno.com. Short or long-term or visiting Europeans of any stripe encouraged.

Please spread the word across fandom, will you?
Salient points: LA, $600, Sab. Cats, kumquat.

Available June 1st, 2004 (which is, for those who are counting, after the Farscape ficathon's due but before any of the others).

Your offer is most tempting, especially as I have two children cats of my own, at least four months' rent saved up with the possibility of getting a job to support us, am a long-term visiting European (I refuse to accept that I might actually have any real ties to this country ;-) and oh yes: definitely, the Sab is an attraction! Also, Hollywood would be ideal, because my wish for life is to be a screenwriter, or at the very least a screenwriter's secretary. And it supports a prophetic dream I had a few years ago.

Alas, my parents are bundling me off to college in August. This aggrieves me greatly.

Then what the hell? I'll give you a tentative "aye," only because there are Things to work out before I can make it definite. Parental permission is not one of them: I'm 18 and do not foresee a revelation that I'm actually a year younger due to some fuck-up on my birth certificate. It's just the logistics of hauling ass to the other side of the country. I couldn't make it out there 'til the first of July at the earliest, mind - I have to graduate, pack, and find transportation for myself and my babies.

There's is nothing in the world that I'd want more than to tell you, "Wait for me, babe, I'm coming," (*cough*), but my life is so unpredictable at the moment, it isn't funny, sexy, or movable. So. I'll be coming. But don't wait.

Unfortunately, circumstances have forced me to amend the "aye" above to a "not right now, maybe in six years." I've been told in no uncertain terms that yes, I am going to school, and it won't be as bad as high school was. *sigh* I've got to try it, at least.

Sorry about that - it sure would've been fun.

Don't know you. Am friend of Sab's.

College is MUCH better than high school and well worth attending. Especially the learning parts.

I won't kid you and say there aren't total assholes there that you will be forced to live with in a dorm, but get into a smaller group within the college interested in what you're interested in, and you'll be fine, find really fantastic people to hang with, and get to spend time studying things you're really interested in instead of all the high school bullcrap you don't want and will never need.

I sure hope so. I'm definitely looking into the "designing my own major" option, probably with a focus on foreign languages - if I'm going, I'm studying something interesting, dangit.

At least trying it is good. And you might like it. Gives you more stuff to write about, too. Also, as [livejournal.com profile] se_parsons said, it is not as bad as highschool. I actually left highschool because it sucked That much, but now find myself enjoying college.

Actually I meant to say earlier. I was totally kidding, up there. College is not overrated, even if high school sucked (which it did for so many of us). College is good stuff. I wouldn't miss it.

Come to think of it, I don't actually know if you'd get along at all. But [livejournal.com profile] trickster_ (Natalie) is in LA, and is currently looking for a new roommate (though not until August, I believe, so that may not work out.) Oddly enough, she too is from Chicago and moved to LA last summer.
