*to her wishlist.

I figure this. I figure, the following. Everyone in the LJ world must have clothing they're sick of, have outgrown, or that's riddled with unpleasant associations of late-night bar-hopping with sinister ex-boyfriends, or that the kidlet left behind when she went off to college with her new hipster jive. That being said, here's five more items on my wishlist, because, y'know, I was a'sposed'ta get ten anyway. Also, perhaps I'll inspire. Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] nestra, I have a Perry Cox icon in the percolator for you, and a couple other regalos por las otras, esperan, esperan...

Now then!

1. A zip hoodie sweatshirt, size children's XL or adult S. Any variety would be lovely.

2. A pullover sweatshirt, crewneck, either haute couture or, like, old-skool Champion style. Children's XL or adult S.

3. Dickies! Any color! Waist 30ish is usu. good. 32 is even better. 34 is quite user-friendly as well. Any bigger and I'll drown. *g*

4. Black jeans! Preferably cut for a man? 32/32 is always good. Nothing shorter than 32 or they'll be clamdiggers on me.

5. Long-sleeved t-shirts of any stripe. Henleys or rugby shirts, too, even. Also things with designs and beads on. Also, you know, not. Children's XL or adult S.

*

Quid pro quo, Dr. Lechter, I have a good deal of clothing I'm willing to part with, so iffen you're interested in trading, lemme know what you're looking for?

I am freezing my proverbial nuts off.

hee. I have so much of your clothing still. like the greenbelt with stars and this tiny black t-shirt that looks like it wouldn't fit a 10 year old boy and barely barely fits me and only for late night attempts to get the girl. and the 55 hoodie. and that kikgirl skirt with all the parachute cords.

some days I'm you.

DUDE. Are they, perchance, camel-colored cords?!!??!!

Maybe if the camel's feeling very unwell. They're a sort of mud-green, cut like capris, and not made of corduroy. Yesno?

How mysterious. Those don't sound like me. Green? Capris? Are they...baggy? Do they have zippers? Are they camouflage? Who makes them? Do they smell like me? Do they LOOk like me?

You're a tiny HERO. I'm looking forward to seeing you in two weeks, at which point you should feel welcome to raid my closet as well, though you've got me licked, I'm sure. YES on hoodies, yes on overalls, yes on fancy pants and sweaters, yes yes yes. ;-) Thank you!

(Additionally, I'm the least girly woman with the most pink clothing you'll ever meet. Somehow, about half my wardrobe is pink. THe other half is, of course, Goodwill- or thrift-store tomboy garb. It's all very perplexing. I blame it on the fact that I'm broke. But I also have a strage soft spot for pink. Pink! And polka-dot kneesocks, which [livejournal.com profile] _maayan soundly mocks me fore. *g*)

It's Zach Braff, from Scrubs, my celebrity boyfriend. *g* I'm actually trying to find a way to trade Lij up for ZB, but so far no one's taken me up on my offer.

Meanwhile, dressing up and drowning our sorrows sounds marvelous. You'll have to let me know, closer to your arrival, how long you'll be in town and which days you're free so we can coordinate.

Tin-hats and the like;)

Hey I'm new around here, and I've spent the last hour reading your LJ and the various comments that get posted to your entries, so I thought I should introduce myself....doesn't seem at all fair, I'm getting to know you but you have yet to know me. (Now that lame song is marching through my brain....Getting to know you, getting to know all about you, getting to like you....Christ I'll stop now.) I found your LJ through an acquaintance of mine who is rather, shall we say, "crazy" for Elijah Wood. (Now Patsy Cline has replaced the last song in my mind, well, at least shes good.) I rather like the little fellow myself, being that I have been a Tolkien fan for ages. However, I'm not what you would call a "personal fan", I'm only learning more about him through this on-line woman. As for tin-hats though, I can say that I know a bit about them. The term is unfamiliar to me, but I think you generally mean "over zealous fan-girls". I know that term from my days of being a rather huge personal fan to one Mr. Ewan McGregor. On this subject I say that we should ease up. Yeah, yeah, I'm a softie at heart. But it is these "tin-hats" that make celebrities what they are. Where would they be without the over-zealous fans throwing down their cash repeatedly for a glimpse at their beloved idols? They would be, well broke, like I am. They also would suffer a lack of popularity, which I am certain has to be bad for the career. I'm not what you would call a "tin-hat", but I know what its like to admire someone a little too much, and I can tell you that most of these tin-hats are just lonely people looking for something special. So what if they believe that a celeb is their "soul-mate", as long as they aren't stalking them. It may come off as a bit pathetic, sure. But who among us hasn't been pathetic at some point in our lives, who among us hasn't acted a bit crazy. As long as it isn't hurtful to others, I see no harm. And I can guarantee you that most "ringers" are just geeks. I should know. Professor Tolkien is my author of choice. Now that we are feeling the love, I must ask for you to immediately run out and give Elijah Wood my phone number so I can "hook up" with old blue....I am kidding you;) I'm crazy, but I'm not THAT crazy;) I've heard too many stories pertaining to the fact that he is a total rake. The Rock Hudson "call up Hugh Hefner" play boy. (And I mean Rock in the Doris Day movies, not the real one, who was obviously gay.) I'm not into guys who change women like underwear, providing that they are wearing any;) Elijah Wood may be attractive, but....I've heard too much, and I'll leave it there;) I don't want to start acting as if I actually know anything for certain. But now onto why I like you, you seem down to earth and you like Zach Braff. Kudos. Did you catch Garden State? I loved it. Zach is pretty awesome. I hope that you'll get to meet him one day, you seem well on your way. With the various people that crawl around your LJ, I'm sure that you're in no short supply of friends, but hey if you ever need another one, you can talk to me. I like meeting people on-line, and this isn't because you know celebrities. I don't care about that. You just look like a genuine person, and someone who is cool. Thats tough to find. Keep up the good work with your LJ.

*Smacks head* It would be intelligent if I gave you a way in which to contact me, if you do ever want to chat. I don't have an LJ at the moment. Basically, I couldn't think of anything to say that someone might actually want to read. But then again....who knows....I have jokes about bubble-pipes, catching the fever,J. Gieles band "Give it to me", and I'm probably one of the few people on this earth who gets drunk with her brother and finds that fact pretty cool. Fuck I've got to start an LJ;) Meantime, its mythjedi@yahoo.com Join my world and you won't want to leave *shameless self promotion*

I suppose it really varies from person to person what we consider harmful. I understand many of your points. I do not think the "they would be broke" idea really washes though. When you pay for a ticket you pay for the time the movie is on. When you pay for a convention you pay for the time at that convention. You do not pay for any more or any less. I undertstand 'being a bit crazy' for someone. I was... when I was 16. I think there is an age where it gets a bit creepy to be so obsessed with someone you have never met. And I don't think you or anyone else would be very comfy with some of the things that go on about stars on the internet.
All this being said I am a huge Tolkien fan, and have been since I was 10. I think it is important for people to remember the actors are NOT the characters in the books and just because we pay for a bit of their time we do not own them

With Respect
D

>>>The term is unfamiliar to me, but I think you generally mean "over zealous fan-girls".

At the risk of feeding the bs I offer the following clarification. The term 'tinhat' with regard to the LOTR actors specifically refers to fans who believe the actors are in romantic relationships with each other, in various combinations.

complete OT, but I had to share:
