Hey, y'all:

The fundraising org. I work for is about to start campaigning for the Democratic National Committee once again; picking ourselves up, dusting ourselves off and getting geared up for those Congressional seats that are up in '06.

We're heavily recruiting for new callers, so, dude, if you live in LA and want to come help out -- even just a few days a week, we could really use you and the money doesn't suck.

We have evening shifts, every weekday, 6-9, plus also full-time shifts, you know, like regular places. Also full day shifts on weekends. And the money doesn't suck, especially if you're good at making convincing humanitarian pleas. Aside from the DNC, we also raise money for groups like NARAL, UNICEF, Greenpeace, EMILY's List, basically, anyone who's ever called you during dinner and asked for a generous contribution...

I've oversold my, um, "writer's groups" to my supervisors here at work, because we're REALLY having a hard time finding good, intelligent fundraisers &c and I told 'em I've got it in the bag, yo.

I'm not in L.A. either (and of course I can't give $$ to political organizations anyway, much less work for them -- I had to get special permission to give to moveon.org that one time) but I think it's hysterical that you say "writer's group" -- that's what I say at work, too. :)
