WHAT happened to the "Hungry and the Hunted" baby animals/"Hymn to Her" montage on the Sports Night DVDs? There was, I SWEAR, a baby animals montage, with polar bears and lions and so forth! While Jeremy is on the phone to his dad! And this is NOT showing on my DVD and I am -- [livejournal.com profile] gamesiplay can testify -- bereft! Furious!

Here's what happens. We fade out on Jeremy on the phone, but the song keeps playing, and under the credits, rather than the theme song, we get the BABY ANIMALS montage, with some sort of big cats, and bears, and maybe a reindeer, babies and mama animals, and we get the WHOLE song of "Hymn to Her" under the credits!

This does not happen on the DVD. Wiki doesn't remember either.

WHERE DID THE BABY ANIMALS GO?????

PUNK doesn't remember! She says:
[18:02] an onion girl: I swear, I swear on all that is holy, that there was a baby animals montage.
[18:02] runpunkrun: I think you hit your head is what happened.
[18:03] an onion girl: NO!
[18:03] an onion girl: There was -- are you tellling me you don't remember a baby animals montage???
[18:03] runpunkrun: I do not.
[18:04] runpunkrun: It wasn't in my aired version.
[18:04] runpunkrun: I probably still have the tape around here somewhere.

HELEN doesn't remember! She says:
[18:03] hhhelen8: there was, now that you mention it.
[18:03] hhhelen8: I think you're right.
[18:03] hhhelen8: maybe they couldn't get the rights?
[18:03] an onion girl: Dear god, please say you remember it.
[18:03] an onion girl: /flailing
[18:04] an onion girl: Punk doesn't remember it!
[18:05] hhhelen8: I feel I do!

Oh, you, someone, anyone??? Please, if you can help me, if you remember this or, even better, have EVIDENCE, or, even better, HAVE the baby animals montage in some sort of digital form, I'll trade you an ACTUAL baby animal of your choice. Choose from a selection of penguins, giraffes and gerbils!

Glad I could help! But I don't think my husband would go for that. ;-)

Dude, it WAS NX, it WAS Hymn to Her, and it WAS Shelley's shower, when she's...hiding in the apartment and Holling comes to try and talk to her and then he leaves and she...brushes her hair?

Not quite - you've got it mixed up with the episode in the first season when she thought she was pregnant (turned out to be a hysterical pregnancy), when she left Holling after he stood her up at their wedding, and later he showed up to talk to her, and she ended up throwing her hairbrush at him. In "Baby Blues," she freaked out at the shower when she couldn't take any more stories about difficult deliveries and ended up in the woods where she found Mother Nature leading a support group of famous mothers, and they ended up convincing her that having a baby wasn't all bad.

(I don't have such a great memory either - the only reason I know all these details is because I watched it about 7-8 years ago when it was on A&E, and also because I still have all the tapes I made back then.)

Man, I loved that show. *nostalgic sigh*

Hey, I just saw that ep of Sports Night last night on the British ABC 1 and it wasn't on it, but I do love Hymn to Her though, they play great songs on the episodes! But how weird that that was the episode they played and you wrote about it!
