I click on the icon, and I get the arrow cursor and then the arrow/hourglass cursor for a moment, and then just the arrow cursor while the computer thinks, and then the arrow/hourglass a little, and then just the arrow and it's all over and NO PROGRAM LAUNCHES? [ETA: !? interbang!]
Some things worth knowing:
iTunes USED to work.
iTunes has all my MUSIC in it, and what's weird is I can't find my music on my hard drive EXCEPT going through iTunes. Where my music at?
I have UNINSTALLED and REINSTALLED iTunes, and it STILL won't launch.
I have navigated to it/attempted to launch it from:
my desktop icon
my My Programs/Start menu list item
Windows Explorer
navigating to the C: drive from the desktop "My Computer"
the c: prompt (except who the hell knows if I actually found it, I have no idea what command in the DOS shell iTunes wants, for launching)
the iTunes icon in the window that pops up when I plug my iPod in
:: in all of those cases, I get the arrow/hourglass/just the arrow/anticlimactic no-launching adventure of nothingness as chronicled above.
More things worth knowing:
I have a PC running Windows XP
it detects and launches my iPod when the iPod is plugged in

Please, please help me. I have about two hundred songs sitting here in my "new music" folder (where "new music" designates tracks I have downloaded since the fall of iTunes) that I would love to get onto my iPod.
Also, I would really really like to know where all my MUSIC is, the music that used to be listed in my iTunes library!
So I can, among other things, upload it and share it with y'all.

Date: 2006-01-09 11:11 pm (UTC)Have you tried searching your computer for a specific mp3 that is in iTunes? You may have to ask it to include hidden files/folders.
