12. "Dreamt" is the only English word that ends in the letters "mt". Or, when I spell it, with m-p-t.

30. In England, the Speaker of the House is not allowed to speak. Que?

Not quite true. Although sort of, like all the best untruths. The Speaker of the House is a supposedly impartial person, elected by MPs from a slate of candidates from their own ranks across the parties. It used to be the marvellous Betty Boothroyd, former Tiller girl - it's now the slightly-less-than impartial George Martin, a bolshy Labour guy from Glasgow. The Speaker's the one who sits a in raised chair at the end of the Chamber, between the two sides of the House, and mostly shouts "Order, order" a lot. Their job is to keep the MPs in line, basically, and make sure the protocols of the Chamber aren't breached during debates. They do get to speak. Although not to make *speeches*, so...
