So [livejournal.com profile] rossetti asked for some new friends, and I pimped the hell out of a whole lotta you. And now you should do the same for me.

Whose LJs should I be reading? Who says awesome things about things? Who loves my shows and my books and my pants? Who tells marvelous stories about subways and adventures and pie?

Turn-offs include: anyone who spends more than 50% of her LJ bitching talking about either money, Weight Watchers, or SPN.

Turn-ons include: people who are funny, people who are adventuresome, people who are wicked and/or viceridden, people who watch Hustle, people who are famous/infamous.

Oh dear. I may cross that 50% line.

Heh, you count because you spend the other 50% talking about sleep/crazymeds (yay!), Los Angeles (yay!) and...miscellaneous crafty cardmaking (why not?!).

Yeah, you slipped in there right under the wire, you. *g*

Blog-wise, you know what's good? Belle du Jour. I am now busy reading the entirity of it. Almost onto March 2004!

In other news: WRITING, later this evening? I cannot read Belle forever. But I can bring you four episodes of Billie Piper being Very Improper.

Actually I have a chick from my class coming tonight so we can watch The Departed and study it All Academic-Like. Le sigh.

Hey, are you watching the new BBC (or Channel 4, or something; I'm in the States, and I can't remember which watermark was on the thing) dramatization, The Secret Diary of a Call Girl? What's your opinion of it, as someone who's read the blog?

I am watching it! And enjoying it -- that's why I went in search of the blog. It's very interesting -- they've done a lot to build Belle the TV character up and away from the original flavor Belle. And Belle the person is somewhat open about her profession with those in her personal life, which is the major change for the TV show, where the drama consists of her trying to live these two separate lives. But spots of voice-over are verbatim from the blog, and the show does a great job of capturing the tone of the thing. Overall, an interesting experience. My local library has a copy of the actual memoir upon which the show is based. If I am a good girl today and get all my homework done, I may walk over and check it out. :)

Are you watching the show too? What are your thoughts?

I highly recommend [livejournal.com profile] anne_asta for her concert and album reviews, her love of the contemp indie scene and her ability to successfully wade knee-deep into scary festivals. Sky and I met her in, what, 2004? at a Franz gig for Fuse, and she drove Sky to Philly to see them play later that same day.

[livejournal.com profile] bachelorettia is a poet. She wrote what has to be the most perfect poem about NSYNC ever. She runs Earshot and occasionally throws music up in her journal that I've never even heard of, but is amazing. She's dry and witty and just a little bit bitchy (in the best way).

[livejournal.com profile] fearlesstemp loves Fred and Ginger and has a real knack with telling a yarn.

How do you not have [livejournal.com profile] hetrez friended? I adopted her when she was 19, which was before I graduated from college, and she's grown from a tentative flower into an intricate fern.

[livejournal.com profile] sinsense is who every slasher wishes to be. She's the uber awesome queer feminist scholar who plays rugby.
