Thanks for the Stargate promo copy! So far [livejournal.com profile] kristophine's "Dream in worlds," and [livejournal.com profile] isabeau's "The galaxy is perfectly safe-- except for the things trying to kill you" have been received as big hits! We'll see what the final decision is.

UNTIL THEN, here's a chance to come up with awesome swag... for yourself! We are putting together the Collector's Edition box for the Stargate: Worlds DVD game. So, ideas for packaging? Some sort of cool shape or tin or artwork? Or... hologram? Ideas for what should be packaged? Other footage? Shots of David Hewlett playing SG:W with his son? The possibilities are limitless!

Again, spitball ideas for me? I'll totally get a free copy of the game to you if we use your ideas, and any other cool SG stuff I can scrape together...

How about a box that turns into a puddlejumper?

Oooh ooh. We don't have puddlejumpers in this game -- it's more SG1 than SGA -- but what else could the box turn into??? That's a good idea. Can you think of anything from SG1 or the SGC or the Milky Way in general? We could totally make the box have little fold out feet or wheels or--- ooh, a MALP!

More ideas! More!

(And yes, Slod, we have to compare Aug 4ths, but I'm not quite ready to talk about it yet...)

Sadly, I'm not an SG1 person. Hmm -- maybe, like, a circular container that has a holographic gate on the front? Or maybe part slides away to reveal the inside of the box or something?

(Also, yes... I know the feeling. I am excited to hear about it, however, when you feel ready!)

A fold-out MALP would be awesome!

How about a set of fake "travel postcards" with concept art or screen shots? Or letters home or diary pages from the characters. Or a GDO?

Can't go wrong with a Stargate shaped tin! You could use the chevrons as the latches to open it! It would be awesome if they lit up!

I was thinking a stargate-shaped thingie too. :D Especially if the symbol ring spins. Spinny is good.

Or, ooh, like, a multi-level container where the latch that opens depends on which chevron you have pointing up :D

And Shots of David Hewlett playing SG:W with his son? would be totally adorable IMO.

I also like the idea of a Stargate-shaped tin thingie, but personally, I'd go for putting an embossed Stargate on the top of the tin and putting holographic whatnot in the middle. Because a) tins are awesome (see: Altoids) b) holograms are awesome and c) making a tin that isn't squarish can be difficult for people storing them (ahem, boyfriend's game collection, hrmph).

What about something that incorporates the (Milky Way) DHD? I'm not sure if having the packaging scream gate, gate, gate! is a good or bad thing, but the DHD is recognizable to SG people but also looks kind of cool in a generic machinery-covered-in-symbols way. And you could probably use the central button to unlatch it. (I have always wanted to jam down the central button; it looks very satisfying.)
