Please allow me to introduce you to some people I love and people you also should adore! I have a very good matchmaking resume iffen you're unconvinced: I introduced [livejournal.com profile] likethesun2 to [livejournal.com profile] furies and the rest was a meeting of the squishy brains. I introduced [livejournal.com profile] tzikeh to [livejournal.com profile] txvoodoo and they have become the double-headed monster of political links and debates and teaching each other and the rest of us shit, and, hopefully, consider themselves fast friends. And I introduced ALL of you to [livejournal.com profile] general_jinjur, and am so so sad I didn't purchase her outright before setting her free in fandom; oh, the kickbacks! As [livejournal.com profile] general_jinjur is a gift to LJ, fandom and the internet and one of my favorite people ever. If you don't know her yet, you're just not paying attention.

And now...

First off [livejournal.com profile] fahye is a medical student, Doctor Who fan, Aussie, and one of my favorite LJ treasures to the point where I barely want to share her with you. But you should go visit and see if you can handle her awesomeness, and you should friend each other if it suits you. But don't forget who introduced you! I take full credit for [livejournal.com profile] fahye's awesomeness. I particularly encourage [livejournal.com profile] calapine, [livejournal.com profile] loneraven and Australians in general to visit Fahye. And [livejournal.com profile] fahye, first off, I love reading your LJ and communing with you for the last... almost a year? that we have had each other friended. I think you should go visit [livejournal.com profile] mandysbitch, and also [livejournal.com profile] lizbee and [livejournal.com profile] loneraven and see what's what.

Next, [livejournal.com profile] riverchild is a kind, savvy, thoughtful London fangirl, and it's not fair I should get to keep her all to myself. [livejournal.com profile] chr0me_kitten, you should meet her, and not just because of the Trinity default icon; you also share TV and music music music! ([livejournal.com profile] riverchild is good for music.) For this and the London connection, [livejournal.com profile] infinitemonkeys, meet [livejournal.com profile] riverchild! and vice versa.

If you're looking for smart, outspoken criticism, analysis, thinky thoughts and good arguments, [livejournal.com profile] cofax7 is like the official news aggregator/analyst of the fannish internet, and [livejournal.com profile] stoplookingup is not far behind. Even if you're interested in only a quarter of the topics either one of these ladies takes on, you will still never regret knowing them and will feel your IQ going up as you read their thinkier posts. And of course the same, plus literature, European history, and incredibly detailed fannish character and plot analysis, comes from the one and only [livejournal.com profile] selenak. Can you handle all of Selena's awesome? Find out. She is so worth it; she and I had a passionate and lusty Narn/Centauri affair several years back and I love her like crazy.

[livejournal.com profile] mydwynter is a tough, sexy, neo-goth, drum playing, singing, bellydancing powerhouse. [livejournal.com profile] malnpudl, meet [livejournal.com profile] mydwynter - you are slightly different demographically but you will find that you are insightful and emotionally aware in a lot of the same ways. And while we're at it, if you're a Canada fangirl and don't have [livejournal.com profile] malnpudl friended you are missing a big chunk of the experience of being a non-Canadian single girl with a crush on that big red maple-leafy country that Paul Gross is the king of.

[livejournal.com profile] magelette is so awesome it's very weird that none of you knows her. But now you will, she's a grad student, kickboxing, book-writing, ren-faire attending, HP, LOTR fangirl and tells a great story. You can't afford to miss her if you kickbox or write books or go to ren faires or simply want a good, menschy, honest and interesting human being on your flist.

[livejournal.com profile] thefayth is a queer activist, black activist, TV star, foxy celebrity, slam poet, political commentator and all around butch babe. She's not fannish in the way many of us are, but I think, for example, she'd have great things to say about the privilege debate that's been cycling; but beyond her activistness she's simply a smart, smart lady and professional writer and content developer with loads and loads of ideas every day. I want to be [livejournal.com profile] thefayth when I grow up if I can't be Susan Coyne.

Other reliably interesting, funny, clever fanpeople include: [livejournal.com profile] sotto_voice, [livejournal.com profile] thingswithwings, and [livejournal.com profile] ignazwisdom. Get to know them if you don't already.

SO. Who would you introduce me to? Who is my life the poorer without?

ALSO, those six kisses I'm writing for you are coming soon.

ETA:
Also, if you're looking for new friends, post a comment or a personal ad in the comments and I bet people will come find you, and plus I can introduce you you people!

I've had this LJ for 8 years, and as my interests and social circles have changed over the years I've gotten to know literally thousands of LJ users. I can't have a friends list much bigger than 200 with any practicality; you all start blurring together in large numbers and then I have to think, wait, was it [livejournal.com profile] ciderpress or [livejournal.com profile] cidercupcakes who posted that thing about the thing? (No offense to either of you; it's just a case of flist flash; you know how it goes.)

And I was only kidding about taking credit for [livejournal.com profile] general_jinjur, but still, if you've managed to go this far without reading her LJ or visiting her audio archive or any of the infrastructure she's helped provide for fandom, not to mention her own fannish works, um, IJS, you're missing out.

And, plus, [livejournal.com profile] loneraven and [livejournal.com profile] fahye, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship! You two look adorable together.

General announcement, people: [livejournal.com profile] magelette and [livejournal.com profile] argosy are two awesome people. First off, Kara, Shelly, meet each other! I think you might just get along swimmingly.

Then, [livejournal.com profile] petronelle, meet [livejournal.com profile] magelette and vice-versa. Seriously, just sit for a minute and talk about Shakespeare's best comic superheroes and see what transpires.

Then, [livejournal.com profile] argosy, go meet [livejournal.com profile] tangleofthorns and talk about sports. Also, [livejournal.com profile] ropo, meet [livejournal.com profile] argosy, an Angeleno with a fondness for used book shops, crafts, and the Dodgers (that's both of you).

And, uh, spread the word. And tell your friends to swing by the post for a glass of punch.

I'm happy to be a character reference on this subject: you introduced me to not only [livejournal.com profile] furies, but also [livejournal.com profile] wurwilf. And that is just a seriously good batting average there.

*sidles up* I feel like as a baby doctor and a baby criminal lawyer we are probably duty-bound to, like, dress up in spandex and workshop some superhero names. And then go around speaking sharply to evil.

Dude, yes. We could run one of those crime-fighting agencies. With our names above the door, and, er, CAPES. There should be capes.

*uses icon of lusty Narn/Centauri affair*

First of all, you make be blush and you know it. Also, I've been occasionally lurking at [livejournal.com profile] cofax7's journal but have done so in silent stealth, and [livejournal.com profile] stoplookingup is new to me, so now I'll hurry to their journals!

And thirdly, whom would I introduce you to (whom you don't know already)? Hmmm. [livejournal.com profile] versaphile, I think. Author of great fanfiction, currently into Doctor Who, old afficiniado of the Jossverse, and fantastic source for out of print articles and books.
